It’s been a minute
And just like that it’s been 5 months since our last blog!!
I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on some recent happenings since we’ve been gone… so prepare for a feast of special pork and some Italian sauce!
Lets kick things off by taking a look at what we did in March, as that was the beginning of our so called ‘peak season’ (not that we have much of an off-season in terms of how busy we are!). March was a month of ‘22 plate Porsche’s, literally; we worked on nothing else aside from brand new Porsche’s from all corners of the North West - we had several transporters in and out on what was our busiest month on record!
The Porsche 911 is iconic, and respected the world over by all motoring journalists. While the 992 has perhaps lost a bit of its old school feel, and put on a little weight, it still remains iconic in terms of the 911 hierarchy; being the first generation of 911 to feature turbocharged engines across the range… making this GTS not far off as fast as the previous ‘Turbo’ badged model (480hp for the 992 GTS vs 513hp for the 991 Turbo). This particular model had the optional Aero package, giving it more road presence. This might not be a GT3, but it is quite literally the next best thing, absolutely awesome car and it remains one of the best sports cars money can buy.
Also in March was the first of a few ‘limited edition’ Porsche’s we’ve worked on this year. This example was finished in the ‘sometimes-tricky-if-you’re-inexperienced’ Solid Black paint. Arguably the best colour you can order a car in, but more high-maintenance than Jennifer Anniston. Notoriously tricky to keep clean and swirl free, but thanks to our self-healing PPF and rock solid ceramic coatings, we’ve made life for its new owner much easier. The GT4 is another iconic Porsche, and probably our favourite. Arguably the best of all time, thanks to it’s mid-engine layout, it’s little wonder the marketing at team at Porsche decided to clip its wings so as not to upset 911 owners. Make no mistake, with the same engine as found in a GT3, the GT4 would run off into the distance - which would’ve been a marketeers nightmare given these cars are cheaper than a base 911 (and when did you last see one of those? never.) let alone a GT3.
Speaking of GT3’s….
Behold! The mighty Porsche 911 GT3 Touring. The best car you can’t buy. Every bit as good as the ‘big wing’ GT3, and then some. I guess looks are subjective but the lack of intrusive swan-neck rear spoiler, and a fully painted front bumper instead of half paint, half plastic, really hits the spot for us. This is the gentleman’s choice, for sure. This particular car had full car PPF coverage, using a couple of different films. The front end had our ‘Porsche Approved’ SunTek Ultra Defence film applied to it (this is the same as if it was ordered directly fitted by the factory), with the rest protected by our trusty PremiumShield Elite self-healing film.
And as if one GT3 wasn’t enough…
We’ll allow you to make your own mind up when choosing between the GT3 and GT3 Touring - assuming of course you are in the fortunate position of having a build slot for one (which is nigh on impossible without striking up a relationship with a single Porsche centre, a salesman there, and the sales manager; all of whom need to be on your christmas card list! oh, and you need to have purchased several brand new Porsches, and sold them back to the dealer when buying another one, in the last 3-5 years!). Still a man, or woman, can dream…
We’re lucky enough to have worked on several of these cars over the last year, and can honestly say we’d have either in a heartbeat… and we’d cover it from head to toe, like we have done on all of those we’ve worked on, with paint protection film.
The last car we’d like to bring to your attention is this stunning Rosso Corsa Ferrari 812 Superfast (with optional Novitec parts). We covered this Italian beauty with SunTek Reaction paint protection film. This is a unique film, incredibly slick to the touch, which is coated in ‘Tetrashield’, a ceramic coating pre-applied during production. It offers the protection of PPF with the easy maintenance associated with ceramic coatings; looks hella glossy too! The 812 has been around for a few years now, and boasts Ferrari’s flagship V12 engine - we can confirm there is no better sounding engine. Period.
With that we’ll bring this blog to a close. Some mighty fine motors have been worked on already in the first half of this year, we can’t wait to see what the second half brings!
Thanks for reading.
