GR Yaris. Oh lord!
If you haven’t heard about the Toyota GR Yaris yet, you must’ve had your head in the sand for the past couple of years! The small but mighty GR has breathed a breath of fresh air amongst petrol heads and the hot hatch market. Toyota’s desire to go rallying with Gazoo Racing led to the need to build a production car similar to the rally car in sufficient quantities for it to be homologated and legal to race. So, they handed a Yaris over to Gazoo Racing, who took the doors and rear light clusters…. and threw everything else in the bin!
A bespoke chassis, a 1.6ltr 3 lung motor attached to a 4wd drivetrain, and a completely redesigned bodyshell (aside from the aforementioned doors and light clusters of course!) with ginormous flared arches later, and the GR Yaris was born.
We’re quite familiar with these cars, as we are quite privileged to have been tasked with working on 14 of these little pocket rockets now!
Protecting a future classic with PPF and/or ceramic coatings is an absolute must. In years to come these cars will almost certainly be worth a small fortune, like many Jap classics of the 90’s and 00’s have become. Original paintwork is highly desirable to collectors, so we have developed a very model specific kit for these; having spent hours tweaking the pattern for the perfect fit.
On this car we protected the following;
Front bumper, bonnet, wings, A-pillars and headlights protected; including wrapped edges, and badge removal/refit on the wings for a cleaner install.
Side skirts protected using 10mil thickness film for added protection and durability on these very vulnerable pieces of bodywork.
Oversize custom rear arches guards, blended into the swage line.
Top of rear bumper (boot loading strip).
Altered Black mirror PPF.
Full door coverage.
Gyeon MOHS Evo ceramic coating on the remaining areas of the car, including a high temp coating on the wheels and brake calipers.
